ThankYouSoMuch is a go!

So I launched my newest project: ThankYouSoMuch. Here’s the rundown…

ThankYouSoMuch was created by artist Dave Estes as an art project to poke fun at corporations that otherwise would really have no other opportunity to view critical artwork.

By sending Big Business “Thank You” notes in ornately illustrated envelopes, the corporations are in effect given possession of the artwork about them. What they choose to do with it is up to them.

The idea of sending unsolicited artwork to people as a means of communication is an experiment in the effects of aesthetic-ambush… a technique that essentially creates a one person gallery in the hands of whoever receives the letter.
